 The Indus Valley Civilization (3300 BC to 1700 BC, mature period: 2550 BC to 1750 BC) is one of the major ancientriver valley civilizations of the world. It mainly spread in the northwestern regions of South Asia, which is todaynortheastern Afghanistan, northwest Pakistan and northern India. Along with the ancient civilization of Ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia,it was one of the three earliest civilizations of the ancient world, and of these three, the most widespread and most famous.According to research published in the respected journal Nature,


this civilization is at least 8000 years old. It is also knownas the Harappan Civilization.It developed on the banks of Indus and Paddhar/Hakra (ancient Saraswati). Harappa, Mohenjodaro, Kalibanga, Toshat, Ghotavira andRakhigarhi were its major centres. In December 2014, Bhirdana has been consideredthe oldest city of the Indus Valley Civilization discoveredso far. On the basis of excavations done during the British period, archaeologists and historians estimate that it was a highlydeveloped civilization and these cities were settled and destroyed many times.For the first time in the 2nd century, when people dug soil for bricks in Punjab province, they found readymade bricks from there, whichpeople considered a miracle of God and used them to build houses

. After that, in 1826, Charles Messen discovered this ancient civilizationfor the first time. Cunningham conducted a survey about this civilization in 1856. During the construction of the railwayline between Karachi and Lahore in 1856, the Burton brothers informed the government about the Hana site. In this sequence,the Indian Archaeological Department was established in 1861 under the direction of Ekta Kanivas. In 1902, WardCurzon made John Marshal the Director General of the Indian Archaeological Department. Fleet excavateda museum about this old civilization. Thus, this civilization was named Ya Sabhyata.It is also called Pradhan Nagarikaran. Due to the use of bronze for the first time, it is considered to be thefirst city in India.
